Gelatieri Artigiani Fiorentini is a Florence-based association of ice-cream manufacturers designed to promote local ingredients through the art of artisan gelato making. The association currently includes fourteen gelaterie.
Although they are always developing intriguing, new flavors, I will always have a soft spot for their Toscano Black 70%, a rich dark chocolate sorbet made with Amedei chocolate. This sorbetto has a velvety texture and tastes like a frozen, creamy chocolate praline. I like to serve it with raspberries or candied orange, depending on the season.
