Forno Becagli is a tiny, crowded bakery in the district of Ognissanti. The place is packed with memorable breads in different shapes. There are also wonderful tarts, cookies, and cakes, but Becagli is most famous for their stuffed focaccias, pizzas and sourdough Tuscan breads.
I usually go there to buy schiacciata and lingue integrali, some whole-wheat flatbreads, which offer a rustic alternative to crackers. They are crunchy and taste nutty. I like to serve them with dips, such as hummus and vegetarian pâtés, and as an accompaniment to cheeses and cured meats.
