Culinary Dictionary: Biscotti

Marzo 5, 2015 by Gaia

BISCOTTI ENGLISH

Biscotti, which translates as “twice” (bis) “baked” (cotti), is the Italian word for cookies – they used to be baked twice so that they would last longer.

Biscotti identifies all kinds of cookies, not only the ones that are first baked in long shapes, and then in slices (also known as cantuccini).
